December 5, 2006 Litter

First time litter for Gorky. Bugger is an accomplished stud. And five beautiful kittens. Two reds (must be boys). Three browns (think that one is a girl). This was a fairly quick birth. Gorky was showing signs of getting ready to give birth for a few days, so we sequestered her to the kitten room. At first, she wanted to hide and just feel uncomfortable. Then she sort of figured out that the birthing pen was for her. And then she came to trust us with everything. When the time came, she gave us the five kittens over the course of 3 and a half hours starting at 2PM. She seems to be a great Mom. Very protective when we pick up a kitten and it starts to squeek. She wants that baby back. Now!
